My solo exhibition ‘In Love With Colour’ is on at Valori Expresso Lounge and Gallery at Scarborough for the month of February. It opens on the Sunday 12th February 4-6pm and everyone is welcome. Gallery hours otherwise are 8am-4.30pm everyday except Wednesday (closed )and Thursday ( only open in the morning). This painting came from my time in France last year for an Artist Residency.

An exhibition of artwork from 20 established and emerging artists will open Sunday the 18th December at 4pm at Valori  Espresso Lounge and Gallery, Scarborough.  Everyone is welcome.

Signs and Symbols- the Christian Imagination’ exhibition is opening  28th October at 6.30pm at Mueller College Auditorium Level 4. Our recent ‘Artists Afloat’ exhibition called “In the City’ was held at Graydon Gallery. While I am not a real city person, I enjoyed the challenge of working on a new subject with more subdued colours than I have usually used.   If you missed the exhibition, the great collection of paintings and sculptures can be seen in this slideshow here.

‘Out of Antiquity’, mixed media

I have just come home from 2 weeks in Nice where I had an artist residency through Galleria Monteolivetto. It was an absolutely amazing time and the artwork I produced during this time will be exhibited next year in Europe. I was struck by the ancientness of the whole place and my work done on 12 small panels was inspired by how life comes out of this history and feeling of antiquity.

Exciting news!!! I am off to France! The Rotary Art Spectacular is on again this year at the Riverside Centre and is a fabulous display of art from a huge number of artists covering the entire  ground floor of the building. If you are in Brisbane over the next week make sure you head over to the Riverside Centre in Eagle Street and have a look. Opening is tonight (a Gala cocktail opening that costs $50 ) or go any day for free from tomorrow until 15th April .  This is one of three painting I have in this exhibition.

‘Beach with Flotsam’, acrylic & charcoal, 60x60cm

The Brisbane floods caused all sorts of objects to become strewn along the nearby beaches. They were objects that were quite alien to the landscape and I hoped to capture a bit of this strange feeling in this beachscape.
